The latter half of June will see two high profile exits from Yahoo!! First, Terry Semel passes the baton on to Jerry Yang after coming under fire from Yahoo!'s shareholders. Elsewhere, in the midst of the oppressive tropical summer, Yahoo! Southeast Asia sees its poster boy, A. Krishnamurthy (Krish), bow out. No, no activist shareholder has an issue with Krish - its just that Berkeley School of Business now 'Haas' him!

The similarities between these two men are striking. Their tenures match "almost to the month". Prior to joining the online behemoth, both had prior experience with leading entertainment brands and also share a passion for sales and marketing. Lest we forget, the dissimilarities are even more incredible. Semel's earnings through the exercise of stock options is now common knowledge, but the untold riches earned by Krish still remain shrouded in mystery! While Semel is a part of the 'single-digit salary earners' club, it is widely believed that the number of '0's in Krish's salary is only second to the '0's that appear at the bottom of a Google search result page!

Guitarist, dragon boat paddler, shutter bug, environmentalist (save his indiscriminate use of fossil fuels to speed to office and back!) all rolled into one great guy. Keep going Arvi! Cooooooooool! :)

Its a sheer coincidence - I suddenly realised (sometime this evening) that there were some similarities between you and Semel. Little did I realise that you had already adverted to it in a blog entry yesterday. I thought I'd in any case go ahead and elucidate!
